Sonoran Hot Dogs for Dinner!

I got to my hotel about 6:15, rested a bit, and re-organized myself and my stuff. Then I headed out for some Sonoran hot dogs at the Sinaloense Hot Dog Cart, which was highly recommended by Tucson Foodie, and was an easy 15 minute drive from my hotel.

If you haven't heard of them before, Sonoran hot dogs are a street-cart staple in southern Arizona. They were originally from the state of Sonora in Mexico and the Mexican vibes definitely shine through. A large, soft roll (traditionally called a bolillo) is split down the center, toasted, and stuffed with pinto beans, onions, tomatoes, mustard, mayo, a variety of sauces, and—of course—a hot dog. They are garnished with a grilled jalapeño pepper as well.

Needless to say, I managed to eat two of them, with a bottle of Mexican Fanta.
