Marfa, Texas

My route today was from Van Horn to Marfa to Presidio to Lajitas and the Lajitas Golf Resort. The first "official" stop was Marfa, an artist's and tourist town located in the high desert of West Texas on U.S. Route 90. Besides being an artist's town, Marfa is also the county seat for Presidio County.

I had really wanted to check out the Marfa and Presidio County Museum, but it didn't open until 1 pm and I wasn't interested in waiting 2 hours for it to open. So, I walked the town square and main drag and took some photos.

Marfa has a really cool hotel - The Hotel Paisano (I'll do a separate post for that) - a prominent courthouse, and lots of art galleries and other shops. I picked up a box lunch from a nice cafe and bakery before I left for the drive from Marfa to Presidio and Lajitas.
